Y.E. Yang Leads by Two at Chevron
Friday, December 4th, 2009 at 11:33pm
Remember Y.E. Yang, the plucky South Korean who bested Tiger Woods (yes, that Tiger Woods) to win the PGA Championship. Well, he’s doing it again, this time grabbing a 2-stroke lead at the Chevron World Challenge. Not bad for a guy coping with a pretty bad headache on Friday. Nevertheless, Yang fired a beautiful 7-under 65 to go 9-under for the tourney thus far. Y[...]

He’s my best friend from high school and was also my best man at my wedding, and we always have a good time hanging out together. I’ve known about his fashion expertise for many years, but until this week it remained an area where w[...]

Coach You’ll Miss the Most
Friday, December 4th, 2009 at 08:36pm
It’s be an understatement to say that the world of college football coaching has been significantly shook up over the past week or so. While I’m sure the firing and retiring isn’t yet over, I’m not sure there will be any more major coaches leaving the college football scene. A few might move to a new team, especially with big openings at desirable schools, b[...]

Leadership Is Only As Good As The Leader
Friday, December 4th, 2009 at 01:00pm
Leadership, like life, is a series of continuous course corrections. Looking to the future via a crystal ball based on your situation today is wholly and entirely inaccurate assuming you even had a crystal ball that worked. Bummer. Major bumps ahead. Leadership has it's bumps. Bumps in workload can be addressed with process improvements, staffing, or revision of services. Bumps in em[...]

Chick of the Day: Zooey Deschanel
Friday, December 4th, 2009 at 01:00pm
I have a thing for nerdy girls, the ones who are a little quirky, smart, and pretty but not in the classical sense. So Zooey Deschanel is a perfect fit for that. She proved she could sing while spending most of her days in green tights and pointy shoes in the movie Elf. She showed off her dramatic abilities with Mark Wahlberg in The Happening. And she breached the generation gap with her performan[...]

Cheeseburgers for Sex
Friday, December 4th, 2009 at 12:40pm
Recently I was watching Maury and the topic was pimps and prostitutes. A few of the girls were getting paid fast food cheeseburgers for sex — cheeseburgers! Then I remembered a story from earlier this year where a pimp was paying his 16-year-old girlfriend/prostitute with chicken nuggets. Image: sxc.hu In the court case, it was revealed that the girl made $4,500 for having sex with five [...]
